This is a helmet that was worn by a soldier who lived through a gas attack. He told his story in a very old review and many Americans were surprised.
This is a Prosthetic limb that was made for soldiers who were lucky enough to live after losing a limb which often happened due to gun fire. Wooden prosthetic limbs were the cheapest to make and fit on the men but an aluminum one was preferred as it was more durable. The one shown here is an aluminum one.
This is Archduke Franz Ferdinand’s car. His first mistake is that it was topless. Franz Ferdinand tried to tour Bosnia believing that he could make it a better place. The black band didn’t like that and attempted to Assassinate him. With many fails and attempts they were eventually successful.
This is a trench coat used the men in the trenches and holes in the line. It was said to protect form the elements and it was said to be somewhat waterproof with its lining on the inside.
This artifact is called the British No 9 box periscope. It’s use was for the men to look out for the enemy whilst staying safe in the trench. It had a scope in it that they could put above their heads to see what was going on "whilst keeping their head and person sheltered". It was found together with its carrying back and corresponding mirrors.
